GLOWWORDS

Editorial Development for Advertising, Entertainment & Publishing

ADDING POLISH TO EVERY PRESENTATION.

I love helping new work debut to the world. I specialize in uniting the big picture with fine details, uncovering insights to help clients perfect their creations – whether in merging memorable scenes with exciting music in a film trailer, or considering word choices and flow in a book.

I’m an entertainment advertising researcher with MarketCast, analyzing audience reactions to movie trailers and posters pre-release. Previously I worked on the entertainment ad agency side with Art Machine and Trailer Park, as well as for 20th Century Fox, film festivals, and traditional advertising. As a copy editor in the publishing industry, I also edited multiple books for Penguin Random House.

Originally from North Carolina and now based in Los Angeles, I majored in film studies at Yale and received my MA in film and media from UC Santa Barbara. Recently, while a fellow in the LA Review of Books Publishing Workshop, I developed an event concept to showcase book manuscripts using a film-market model.

My genre interests range from science fiction and thrillers to music biopics, with a strong dash of appreciation for documentaries, book-to-film adaptations, and the historical evolution of television. Touchstones include William Gibson, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, Robert Frank, Pennebaker and Hegedus, Roger & Me, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Portlandia, Silo, and Marcel the Shell with Shoes On – the list is always growing!
